Reflex Locomotion is a component of Vojta based treatment and the DNS system. It involves several zones on the body which can help coordinate breathing and muscular control.
Patients who say they have always been uncoordinated, have trouble doing exercises correctly or have never been able to feel certain muscles in their body, usually abdominals, arches of the feet and lower shoulder blades.
Patients with chronic tension and who usually just tighten up during exercise or rehabilitation can also benefit from reflex stimulation, it helps connect the muscles of the body to even out the workload.
When reflex locomotion helps reconnect muscular patterns, those positions can be transferred over into specific exercises to optimize benefit while reducing change of exacerbation
I have trained in reflex stimulation with Dr. Richard Cohen and Dr. Ryan Van Matre in adult and pediatric techniques respectively, in addition to Clinical DNS courses.
